Yoga has been part of Jen’s life for almost 20 years now, after taking her first Ashtanga class she was “in love.” It has helped her grow stronger and more flexible, not only physically, but mentally & emotionally too. Yoga has been her anchor with her struggles with mental illness over the years and has physically evolved with having three back surgeries.
Jen began teaching in 2005 after completing her first teacher training program through The Yoga Sanctuary in Toronto, and a second with David Gellineau and David Robson of Catfish Yoga Shala. She feels blessed to have had the opportunity to travel and study under many respected teachers, such as Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, Sharath, Ron Reid, Darby, Richard Freeman, David and Doug Swenson, Danny Paradise, Dharma Mittra, and Patrick Beach. She is forever learning, is always taking workshops, and studying in India is on her bucket list too!
Jen is a “healer;” practicing massage therapy for 18 years now and studying Osteopathy. She truly loves to be able to hold space for her students and share what she has learned along the way. Her classes are grounded in strength, emphasize the importance of breath, and full of mindful movement. She is never too serious (it is only yoga, after all!), is fun, and has kick-ass tunes! Her students love her passion, humour, attention to detail and leave her classes inspired.
